If the waterproof project of the bathroom is not done well, it will bring great trouble to the residents, such as wall leakage, ground leakage, floor damage and so on. Therefore, the decoration owner must carefully supervise the construction workers when doing the waterproof project of the bathroom, so as not to waste money and bring trouble to themselves. What are the precautions for waterproofing the bathroom?
First, we must be careful not to destroy the original waterproof layer during hydropower transformation.
Generally speaking, as long as the new house received by the decoration owner is qualified in quality inspection, it has already made a waterproof layer, but many decoration owners will transform the layout of the bathroom and the water supply and drainage pipelines when carrying out hydropower transformation, so consumers must emphasize to the decoration workers not to destroy the original waterproof layer when supervising the construction. If they have to destroy the original waterproof layer, they must repair it in time or even redo the waterproof project to ensure that there will be no leakage.
Second, choose the right waterproof material
The waterproof material recommended by the Ministry of Construction is a one-component environment-friendly polyurethane coating, mainly because this coating can tightly wrap the pipeline and the ground, penetrate into the gaps, and will not shrink after drying. It is more suitable for small-area houses with such pipelines and gaps in bathroom than rigid materials such as waterproof cement. This kind of coating costs about 50~60 yuan per square meter, which is affordable for general decoration owners.
Third, you can’t brush waterproof materials on rainy days.
In order to have a good waterproof effect, the waterproof coating must be painted three times. The drying period of one-component environmental protection polyurethane coating is about 3~4 days. If waterproof materials are painted in rainy days, the effect of waterproof coating will not be very good.
Fourth, make the ground waterproof
Before laying floor tiles, you must do a good job in waterproof engineering; After laying ceramic tiles, it is necessary to ensure that the tile surface has a drainage slope (generally about 1% is appropriate), and the slope faces the floor drain, which is conducive to wastewater discharge.
Five, do a good job of waterproof wall
When the bathroom takes a bath, it will splash water on the adjacent walls. Without the protection of waterproof layer, the next wall and the opposite corner wall are prone to moisture and mildew. Therefore, it is necessary to waterproof the wall before laying the wall tiles. In general, the wall should be waterproof 30 cm high, but the non-load-bearing light wall should be waterproof, at least 1.8 meters high.
Six, be sure to do waterproof inspection.
After the waterproof project is completed, it is necessary to do waterproof inspection to be on the safe side. If the waterproof inspection is unqualified, we must not make do with it. Let the construction team redo the waterproof project. If conditions permit, we can ask professional decorators to help supervise the waterproof project.
