According to the statistics of the Fire Rescue Bureau of the Emergency Management Department, from January to October this year, fires caused by electricity alone accounted for more than 30% of the total number of fire causes. After entering the winter, the temperature drops, the electricity consumption increases, and there are many fires caused by short circuit of wires.
A few days ago, a fire broke out on the second floor of a factory building of a company producing auto parts in Bayou District, Wuhu, Anhui Province. The fire was fierce, and smoke billowed out all around. Firemen immediately set up water guns on the north and west sides of the fire point to put out the fire and control the spread of the fire.
Because the on-site fire ignited the flammable goods in the production workshop on the first floor, which made it more difficult to put out the fire, firefighters transferred forklifts to move the cardboard boxes stacked on the first floor to the open space, and then repeatedly watered them with water guns. After more than an hour of rescue, the fire was extinguished.
After investigation by the fire department, the cause of the fire was a short circuit of the wires laid along the corner of the factory building. Fortunately, the factory employees found the fire in time and immediately called 119 to call the police, causing no casualties.
At 5 o’clock in the morning of November 24, a shoe factory in Xinyu, Jiangxi Province, suddenly caught fire. The fire was fierce and the smoke was rolling. The scene was mostly flammable items such as cartons, glue and plastic parts. It took firefighters half an hour to put out the fire. According to the investigation by the fire department, the fire was caused by a short circuit of the air pressure pump wire in this shoe factory.
A few days ago, a children’s clothing store in Xiaogan, Hubei caught fire. When the firemen arrived, they found that the children’s clothing store on fire had two floors, and the location of the fire was at the junction of the first floor and the second floor. The firemen immediately attacked and put out the fire from the front and back doors of the children’s clothing store on fire.
On the second floor of this clothing store, there are mechanical equipment and a large number of combustible materials such as cotton cloth. Firefighters used tools to clean this area comprehensively. After more than half an hour’s efforts, the fire source on the scene was completely extinguished.
According to the owner of the clothing store, the first floor of this house is a clothing store. She usually lives on the first floor, and the second floor is rented to others to open a small clothing factory. After investigation by the fire department, the fire was caused by a short circuit of wires on the second floor.
How to avoid these problems?
In winter, the climate is dry, and all kinds of electrical equipment are turned on for a long time, and the electricity consumption is increased, which is likely to lead to short circuit of wires or fire caused by overload heating. At ordinary times, it is necessary to regularly check whether there are any faults such as damage, short circuit and poor contact in the used electrical lines, and replace them in time when problems are found.
